Book Marketing

Book Marketing is comprised of two aspects;
Marketing - The designing of a book to target a certain market of consumers.
Promotion - Letting potential customers know that your book exists and making it easy for them to purchase it.

Marketing

Marketing is the part that most authors don't like to think about. As creative people, we just want to create and then let the world enjoy. The art of marketing, however, involves comparing what we want to create to what people will actually respond to.

ipad books through dragonpencil While this can be disruptive to the creative process, it makes good financial sense. By choosing a market for your book, you can tailor it to those people, increasing their liklihood of purchasing it. Also, it may greatly decrease the costs of promoting to that group.

Your target group might be as large as English Speaking Women Age 20 to 40 or it can be as narrow as Children From Alaska With Seasonal Affective Disorder. If you want to explore the potential market for your book, call us. There's no charge. (888)497-6831

The time to stop and smell the flowers is not when your book first comes out. You need to promote, promote, promote! Let everyone you know about your book. Then tell everyone else.

These days social media is a handy way to spread the word quickly. But there is so much more that you can do. Book signings, school visits, advertising, mailings, guerilla marketing tactics, press releases, and an endless array of other ideas. The promotion will be made easier if you did a thorough job of targeting your market. If not, there are still ways to get the word out. If you're having trouble getting word out about your book, call us. We'll be happy to offer ideas.
